So what is RSS?
RSS = Really Simple Syndication, it is a way to syndicate your website news, or blog news, or any content for that matter to the rest of the world (all through a commonly defined lightweight XML format)
Originated by UserLand in 1997 and subsequently used by Netscape, RSS has evolved into a popular means of sharing content between sites
What is an RSS feed?
Its XML formatted text, the best way to explain it is to give a simple example as follows;

A news feed reader reads that XML formatted text file and displays the title and description, the user then links to the site for more information
Who do I submit the feed to?
Once you have made an XML feed file, and put it in a directory on your website, what next?, well the list of RSS feed aggregators is endless but a good start would be the following websites;
Why is RSS important to SEO?
Because it is yet another avenue to link back to your websites URL and deliver its content to the rest of the web, it will also indirectly help your ranking as the search engines start give more and more credence to RSS feeds.It is also important to remember that once your RSS feed is out there it will be categorized, and grouped together, the search engines like this, it is more meaningful to them and again adds to your website relevance in that category area.
